Chief Revenue & Development Officer
The Chief Revenue & Development Officer will lead the entire fundraising team and build a new business development team focused on strategizing, coordinating, implementing and managing a comprehensive annual development program comprised of individual giving, including major and planned gifts, corporate donations, institutional/government and foundation granting, special events fundraising, capital campaigns, and the innovation of additional raised revenue opportunities.
Senior Institutional Giving Manager
Youth Radio is in a period of rapid growth as we implement a 4-year fundraising campaign to fully implement our strategic plan and grow our budget by 200%. We are seeking a Senior Manager of Institutional Giving to manage and grow Youth Radio’s pipeline of institutional supporters for our core operations in Oakland, amounting to approximately $4 million per year. This position reports to the Director of Institutional Giving.
Chief Finance & Administrative Officer
Youth Radio’s Chief Financial and Administrative Officer (CFAO) reports to the Executive Director and
is primarily responsible for the organization’s financial oversight and systems, and day-to-day
operational activities including human resources and information technology. The CFAO is also
responsible for developing a robust financial plan that drives business planning, fundraising, decisionmaking,
cost management, and growth while working closely with internal stakeholders to shape and
lead the organization’s facilities, operations, and technology functions.
This key executive will work closely with the Executive Director to identify new revenue strategies to
support the organization’s expansion. The CFAO will also partner with the senior leadership team in
strategic decision making to enhance Youth Radio’s quality programming and capacity building.
The Senior Radio Producer will play a lead role in our production company, bringing creativity and top-notch audio production skills to a team of professional journalists and young people around the country. You will drive deep reporting projects in addition to fast-turnaround news features, and have fun in the process. We are eager to bring on new talent with vision, energy, new ideas for create storytelling formats, and a love for all-things audio. It’s an opportunity to produce in partnership with teens and college-aged youth, getting direct access to the stories that only young people know first-hand. Your work will work reach an unusual cross-section of major audiences through national outlets including: The New York Times, NPR, and Teen Vogue.
The Investigative Journalist will lead original investigations that hold institutions and public officials accountable on issues that directly affect young people’s lives and communities. We have a strong track record of award-winning investigative reporting, across platforms and issues. We are eager to bring on new talent and build a vibrant desk that produces ground-breaking coverage. You’ll join a one-of-a-kind production company that integrates young people into high-stakes investigations and gets results at a policy level and in the lives of affected communities. It’s an opportunity to report in partnership with teens and college-aged youth, getting direct access to the stories that only young people know first-hand. The Podcast Producer will join Youth Radio’s media team to take our podcast programming to the next level. You’ll be the creative force behind the podcast feed for the nation’s lead producer of youth reporting and opinion.
With an eye on trending news and culture, you’ll make fast, effective decisions about the best approach for programming our podcast for maximum impact. It’s a chance to make your mark and work closely with youth reporters and artists to create an unforgettable podcast experience. Youth Radio’s partners include NPR (where we serve as the Youth Desk) as well as The New York Times, Teen Vogue, and Marketplace.
Restorative Justice Program Manager
Youth Radio is seeking a restorative justice educator with experience working with system engaged transitional aged youth. The ideal candidate possesses significant experience in restorative practices and facilitation, curriculum development, management or community organization setting. The Manager will oversee the operations of the Restorative Justice Program, implement daily classroom trainings, and play a key role within Youth Radio’s support service team. The candidate will have experience working directly with youth who have had encounters with the juvenile justice system. The program is funded through the City of Oakland Unite initiative.
